Ready for the End of the World
The moon
temple in Tikal Guatemala 2011
To those
who are ready
The return
They will
come back from the north and from the west. Quetzalcóatl will take Chichén Itzá
as his seat. Then the last katon will be finished. All these things will happen
on the 21st of December 2012, as everyone knows it is the date that mankind has
an appointment with the end of the world. The Mayas believed that the world had
been created and destroyed several times; the last time the Earth was created
again was more than five thousand years ago, concretely the 11th of
August of 3114 B.C. However not only the Maya culture tells us about the end of
the world, there are also a lot of predictions that show the same idea more or
less in the same period of time. The Apocalypse, the Hopi prophesies, the Hindu
religion and how could I not mention the famous Nostradamus. We have a great
quantity of information regarding this matter. There are many signs that
indicate something could happen. Will it happen?
Other
endings
In the year
1000 A.D people in Europe lived worrying about the same question. The unusual PopeSylvester II was head of the Catholic Church. According to the Apocalypse the
beast would be liberated after one thousand years. There were a lot of signs
that indicated that the end of the world was coming. Many things happened but the
planet has continued rolling until today. And what about all the prophecies
that were predicted about the year 2.000 A.D? We are still waiting for them...Now
we have another date 2012, and it is possible that next year we could have another
one that I was told about…2036.
Afraid of…
According to
some psychologists guilt is the feeling that makes us think about the idea of a
punishment that somehow we understand just deserts. War, hunger, economical
crisis, natural environment, all these things have been created by us and maybe
it is about time we changed. But we are also afraid of change. The certain
thing is that " change " is always a difficult process for people and
everything that involves the unknown naturally generates uncertainty and fear.
But on the other hand, change is the only thing that is permanent.
Does it
make sense?
