To those who are traveling

The journey

"He put a hand on my shoulder and looked at me as if, for a split second that was never to return, he was proud of me, even though we were so different,"* even though I wanted to search for my own destiny instead of being a mere spectator. To reconquer my dream was to be a difficult task once again. I had to demonstrate to myself that I was able to do it. I said goodbye to my father and I started again. Traveling by metro always offers interesting experiences. The first time I took the line four at Canillas station I was waiting and thinking of my opportunities and then something incredible occurred; a voice through the metro speakers clearly said: Next station: Hope. Then I remember Manu Chao’s song and I could not avoid a smile appearing on my face.

Let your destination come to you

Being a traveller means having the courage to get into the train when it appears in front of you. However all of us have the same question in this particular instance: how can I be sure that it is the correct train? Nobody knows and this is part of the emotion of being a traveller. When someone becomes a traveller it is because he has decided not to be a spectator anymore but rather has decided to start looking for something or somewhere in this world. The clearer your destiny in your mind the clearer you´ll see if the train is right or not.  Life is like the underground; there are many lines that can lead you to the same points. It is possible that it will take you more time, but if you know where your destination is you will arrive eventually. Life is filled with great opportunities for all of us if we are able to understand the map in front of us. Nevertheless we usually make mistakes and from time to time we choose the incorrect train, then life offers us the possibility to change everything around us, permits us to cross the line and look for the right direction, but countless times we would rather stay in the same station just waiting.

Enjoy your trip

Any train is valid if it leads you to your destination, but don’t forget to enjoy the journey. Traveling is a sort of school that allows us to increase our knowledge. Traveling through different cultures is interesting but not less than traveling through life itself. You don’t need to go so far away to discover incredible stories, amazing people, and beautiful places. Near you there are a lot of them, in fact there are a lot of incredible things inside of you and looking for them could be the most emotional trip you will ever do. So next time you make an important decision in your life, maybe you will hear a voice inside you telling you: Next station: Hope. Don’t forget to smile and enjoy your trip.
