The Dark Side

Nowadays when everything looks lacklustre, when a big crisis hits us without mercy, when people suffer from illnesses; a lot of souls are selling themselves cheaply. But you can find interesting people even these days, people who try to change the world in which we are living in.

But I wonder: how can this world be changed easily? I remember one of my favourites movies “Star Wars” when Luke Skywalker alone destroyed the Empire of the Dark Side. Perhaps it won´t happen this way so we better look for another solution.

A New Hope

Looking back into the past, I remember a mathematical theory that I was seduced by. I was never good at maths but I fell in love with the philosophical aspects and the beauty represented through what was known as the Chaos Theory. It is difficult to express with only a few words what this theory is. Lorenz, the author of this theory, used to explain it by saying that small differences in initial conditions of any kind of system could lead to big changes. A lot of people know this as the butterfly effect. Chaotic behaviour has been observed in the laboratory in a variety of systems and has proven to work. Therefore, the small things could be what is responsible for the big changes. We should not ignore the small details because these can represent a big chance.

You can meet people who inspire you with their example or impress you with a thought or a special attitude. Around us there are a lot of people sharing their experiences with anybody who wants to listen to them. Sometimes it is because of a mentally demanding training experience, as I underwent recently. Sometimes it is someone close to you who gives you a recommendation, a piece of advice and your life can take a completely different turn. That was what happened to Matthew when he sopke to his father. Sometimes someone can show you how it is possible to see everything from a different perspective, like what Terry has been doing since she closed a door in order to open a new one and discovered a great way to help people in different countries; you can read about her HERE. Sometimes it is just a feeling that someone, without any kind of intention, gives you as inspiration.

Just . . .

There are a lot of opportunities to see everything in different ways, just do it. There are a lot of gifts that are being offered to us every day, just enjoy them. So if we want to build a better world to live in we need to approach small things with a positive attitude, like what these ants are doing with the bud, and try to see everything around us as a gift.
